Recently, Deborah Tabart, CEO of Brisbane based Australian Koala Foundation, toured polar bear point in Churchill, Canada with Robert Buchanan, President of Polar Bears International, to discuss how koalas can help save polar bears. koalas and polar bears share solutions for survival rooted in their habitats and since koalas are a poster species for conservation, they play an integral role in drawing intention to carbon-rich koala forests that are vital in the battle against global warming.

An estimate by AKI places wild koala population at fewer than 10000o individuals and attributes this decline to habitat lost. according to Tabart, "Enormous amounts of carbon on the east coast of Australia should be protected to restore the natural balance of the plants protecting koala habitat, means saving the world's biodiversity and slowing ice melts for the polar bear's habitat."
